Whanau art


Kia ora Last week as part of our Whare Tapa Wha learning we sketched important people in our families. Then we used water colours to paint our pictures. What I like about my art is my mother.

Te Rehutai

 Te Rehutai  


This week we were excited to be learning a bit about Te Rehutai, the Team New Zealand AC 75 that has been sailing in the Waitemata Harbour.  Here is my information.


  • Peter Burling is the Skipper

  • Boat name is AC75 and 75 feet long  22.8 metres.

  • 7 tonne.

  • Draft 5 m.

  • Beam 5.4. Metres (17.7)

  • Flying on foils.

  • No keel.

  • Light but super strong carbon fiber.

  • America's cup is the oldest sporting cup in the world.

  • It goes 50 knot’s 92km/h.

  • There are 11 people on the boat.
